HISTORY and LIFETIME channels to remain on DStv
We’re constantly reviewing our content and channel offering to ensure that we give customers fresh content, more often at great value.
We are happy to let you know that History and Lifetime channels will remain on our platform, so you can keep enjoying your favourite factual entertainment, scripted dramas and original movies. We have reached an agreement with A+E Networks to extend the current contract to air History and Lifetime channels on our platform, so you can continue to tune in without any interruption.
Why are you returning A+E channels?
MultiChoice has reached an agreement with A+E Networks to extend the current contract to air HISTORY and LIFETIME channels on DStv
Did MultiChoice change its mind due to public pressure? why was it re-negotiated/renewed?
It is always our intention to provide the best selection of programming for our customers, based on commercial terms that make sense and provide a value for money offering to our customers.
You announced that you would be replacing the A+E channels with new content. Is this still the case?
Yes this is still the case. MultiChoice is always looking for ways to enhance its offering to its customers – that includes ongoing research into potential new channels. We will soon be announcing the introduction of two new channels to DStv. In addition, we continue to increase our significant investment in local shows and content, which have great resonance with customers and are a key driver of engagement.
Why is Crime + Investigation not being renewed?
We are continuously reviewing our content line-up and channel selection to improve our entertainment offering to our customers, as well as ensuring customers continue to get good value with a wide variety of content on offer. We are confident that our valued subscribers will continue to find content that is compelling and entertaining in our existing line-up.
