UEFA Euro 2020 Qualifiers

SuperSport viewers on DStv and GOtv can wrap up a great weekend of football action with some more qualifying matches from the UEFA Euro 2020 tournament on Sunday 8 September 2019.

The action on Sunday is a continuation of Groups J, D and F – all of which were in action on Thursday 5 September.

The day’s schedule in the Euro 2020 qualifiers opens with Armenia at home to Bosnia-Herzegovina in an afternoon Group J clash in Yerevan. The other games from the pool take place at night, with Greece hosting Liechtenstein in Athens, and the crunch game is between Finland and Italy in Tampere.

The Azzurri beat the Eagle-Owls 2-0 when the teams met in Udine back in March and coach Roberto Mancini will be looking for another three-pointer to take his team ever closer to a guaranteed place at the 2020 finals.

In Group F, 2008 and 2012 European champions Spain will look to put on a strong show at Estadio El Molinon in Gijon for their home clash with Faroe Islands (a team they beat 4-1 in Torsvollur back in June), Romania play host to Malta and SuperSport viewers can also enjoy a Scandinavian derby between Sweden and Norway in Solna.

The teams played out a thrilling 3-3 draw in their first Group F meeting back in Oslo back in March, with Ola Kamara scoring an equaliser for the hosts in the seventh minute of injury time.

Finally, Group D features two Euro 2020 matches on Sunday, with Georgia hosting Denmark in Tbilisi and Switzerland looking to claim all three points with a game against Gibraltar in Sion. The Swiss’ only previous home game in the group was a 3-3 thriller at home to Denmark, but they should enjoy better fortune against Team 54.
