DVB-H (Digital Video Broadcast – Handheld) is a mobile broadcast technology that allows for the digital terrestrial broadcast of live television channels to a mobile phone.
The Nigerian DStv-Mobile offering began on 28 August 2007. This early offering is available in Abuja and will soon be available in Ibadan and Lagos. During the launch period the service will be free and thereafter attract a monthly fee around US$12.50 (excluding local taxes). Specially prepared Samsung p910 DVB-H mobile phones are available from MTN Nigeria that will allow viewing of 10 premium DStv channels.
