About XtraView
What is XtraView?
- A cost effective and flexible solution which allows two XtraView capable DStv decoders* to be linked together in one household, at the cost of a single subscription plus a monthly access fee is equivalent to the one currently payable for SD PVR and Dual View decoder functionalities.
- XtraView allows you to increase the number of TV channels which can be viewed simultaneously in your home without having to pay and additional subscription. (*See available XtraView combinations)
How does XtraView work?
Two decoders* are linked to work under a single subscription. Each decoder is independently connected to the satellite dish and each decoder has a smartcard. In the XtraView installation, one decoder is designated as the “primary” decoder and the other one is designated as the “secondary”. The decoders are linked by a cable that allows communication between them and the primary decoder sends a “heartbeat” to the secondary decoder via this cable. If the cable is removed or the “heartbeat” lost, the secondary decoder will lose video & audio until the cable is replaced or the “heartbeat” resumed. How much does XtraView cost?
You will need to pay a monthly access fee over and above your normal subscription. This access fee is equivalent to the one currently payable for SD PVR and Dual View decoder functionalities. Please note that if you are already paying an access fee as an SD PVR or DualView subscriber, you will not be billed extra.
